Robbie Adamson was born and raised in Ottumwa, Iowa, and still enjoys calling the community home. Looking back on his childhood, he recognizes that his parents had their hands full dealing with his rambunctious nature. He also recognizes that getting involved in youth boxing kept him on the straight and narrow path.
Once Robbie started boxing, it didn’t take long for everyone to see his gift. He took home numerous Golden Gloves wins and even fought a few professional fights.
As an adult, Robbie landed at the JBS Pork facility in 1994. He now works as a fork truck driver – a job he says is perfect for him since he has a hard time sitting still for too long. But the job also gave him a schedule and the financial security that allowed him to chase not only his career dreams, but also his dreams outside of the facility doors.
With the savings he had put aside from his hard work at the plant, Robbie opened his own boxing gym, where he spends his evenings training other young fighters – some of whom might also be a handful for their parents, were it not for their focus on boxing and time spent training at the gym.
